OppenheimerFunds opens London office as part of international expansion

New chief operating officer for EMEA

US asset manager OppenheimerFunds has opened a new headquarters for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in London, to bolster distribution of its strategies across the region.

All London-based operations will be led by Doug Stewart, head of EMEA, while former lawyer Dicken Watson has been hired as chief operating officer for EMEA. Based in London and reporting to Stewart, Watson will lead operational and compliance-related activities throughout the region. Last year, the firm launched OppenheimerFunds ICAV, an Ireland-domiciled UCITS platform and sub-funds. Funds in the range include the newly-launched Oppenheimer Emerging Markets Local Debt UCITS fund, the Developing Markets Equity UCITS fund, and the Global Value Equity UCITS fund.
