GSAM and ex-Vontobel manager team up for global equity launch

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and GQG Partners, the firm set up by former Vontobel manager Rajiv Jain, have launched a long-only global equity strategy, which will be available to retail investors across Europe.

The Goldman Sachs GQG Partners Global Equity Portfolio, which is a sub fund of the UCITS-qualifying Luxembourg-domiciled Goldman Sachs Funds SICAV, will be managed by GQG's chairman and CIO Jain, and distributed exclusively by GSAM. RLAM launches first global equity funds for ex-Waverton trio GSAM said Jain will be supported by an investment team of nine other professionals from both "traditional and non-traditional backgrounds", with staff experienced in areas like investigative journalism and forensic accountancy.
