Hermes Investment Management is set to expand beyond its existing ESG range with the launch of an impact strategy linked to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, scheduled for launch in January 2018 subject to regulatory approval.
The Hermes Impact Opportunities strategy, which will be managed by the firm's Europe ex UK fund manager Tim Crockford alongside a team of four, will invest in a global equity portfolio of 25 to 50 securities, typically held over five to ten years. Its new UCITS fund will invest primarily in mid-cap names, but will include some small- and large-cap investments, with each company's impact linked to at least one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
