Update: Liontrust plans triple bond fund launches as Baillie Gifford's Phillips to join team

Baillie Gifford promotes team members to co-manage funds

Donald Phillips, manager of the £470m Baillie Gifford High Yield Bond fund, will move to Liontrust Asset Management next month to work alongside former Kames colleagues David Roberts and Phil Milburn in the group's newly formed global fixed income team.

Phillips (pictured), who is a high yield specialist, will move to Liontrust in February to work with fixed income duo David Roberts and Phil Milburn, who will join from Kames Capital later this month. Liontrust said it will then launch Strategic Bond, High Yield Bond and Absolute Return Bond funds once the new global fixed income team is in place, subject to regulatory approvals. Phillips currently works at Baillie Gifford in the credit team but started his career at Kames Capital, where he previously worked with Roberts and Milburn between 2005 and 2008.
