Polar Capital is actively seeking global and emerging market fund management teams as the firm also seeks to diversify its global reach by targeting the US market, according to new chief executive Gavin Rochussen.
He told Investment Week he was looking to add capacity to the business, which already has £11.7bn in assets under management (as at 29 December 2017). Rochussen joined the firm as CEO in July 2017 from JO Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM), which he led for eight years. "For long-term growth we need to add teams to try to diversify the business. We are looking to add capacity, but we cannot keep adding assets to our existing strategies as they are capacity constrained.
