Franklin Templeton expands fund range with EMD strategy

Franklin Templeton Investments is to launch a Templeton Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund, managed by Michael Hasenstab and Sonal Desai.

The fund is a sub-fund of the Luxembourg-registered Franklin Templeton Investment Funds and is expected to obtain approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for UK investors in the next few weeks.  Using a high conviction, benchmark unconstrained approach, the fund aims to maximise total investment return by investing predominately in the local-currency debt of issuers in emerging market countries.
