The £3.5bn Foreign & Colonial investment trust is to become known as the F&C Investment Trust, subject to shareholder approval, as it approaches its 150-year anniversary.
The announcement was made in the trust's full results released this morning and said it was a "natural reflection point to ensure [its] relevance in the modern world". Simon Fraser, chairman of the board said: "Our anniversary year provides a natural reflection point to ensure your company continues its contribution and relevance in the modern world. "As part of this, our marketing will increasingly take place under the company's commonly used name 'F&C Investment Trust'; the name with which Foreign & Colonial has always been synonymous.
