HL cuts L&G UK Index fee to 0.04% as platform launches entry-level service

Simply Invest will target young investors

Hargreaves Lansdown has launched a simplified service aimed at first-time investors, called Simply Invest.

The service will offer the Legal & General UK Index fund for an ongoing annual charge of 0.04%, down from its typical 0.1%, in recognition of its suitability for those entering investment markets for the first time. Users will also receive monthly educational tutorials to help them better understand the basics of investing, including a jargon buster, FTSE updates, the difference between saving and investing and explaining the building blocks of an investment portfolio.
