BNP Paribas AM launches UK private debt fund

Access to lending market for smaller businesses

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has expanded its private debt range with the launch of a UK SME Debt fund, offering investors access to the lending market for small and medium UK businesses.

The fund will invest in senior loans to SMEs that have an annual turnover of less than £50m, originating from the BNPP AM SME Alternative Financing platform.  The money will provide SMEs with access to sustainable and complementary sources of funding.  BNP Paribas AM unveils absolute return strategy The firm has already acquired a 10% stake in alternative SME credit specialist Caple and announced a strategic alliance with specialist UK fintech lending platform CODE Investing, to assist in the origination of these loans.
