Quilter appoints former Standard Life UK chief as director

Quilter has appointed former Standard Life UK chief executive Paul Matthews as an independent non-executive director and a non-executive director of financial adviser network Intrinsic Financial Services, soon to be rebranded as Quilter Financial Planning.

Matthews has worked in the savings and pensions industry for over four decades, most recently at Standard Life where he was chief executive officer UK & Europe, chairman of Standard Life Wealth and group executive director, before retiring from full-time executive roles in 2017. Matthews has also been a member of the FCA Practitioner Panel, a board member of the Association of British Insurers and a member of the Faculty of the Chartered Insurance Institute, and is currently an executive mentor at Merryck & Co.
