EFAMA appoints director general replacement for De Proft

The European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) has appointed Tanguy van de Werve as director general from 2019, replacing outgoing Peter De Proft.

Van De Werve will take up the position on 1 January and be responsible for implementation of EFAMA's strategic agenda and be the central spokesperson for the European asset management industry.  He will also raise awareness of how asset managers can help secure adequate retirement capital in Europe and protect European citizens' welfare through savings.  He will replace De Proft who has headed up the organisation for the past 11 years and announced his departure in June, although he will remain as a honorary director general.
