Standard Life Aberdeen has announced former HSBC chairman Sir Douglas Flint will replace Sir Gerry Grimstone as chairman of the board from 1 January 2019.
Grimstone announced his decision to retire earlier this year and will step down at the start of 2019 after 15 years on the board. The firm was expected to announce Flint as his successor, and has confirmed he will join the board on 1 November as chairman designate and non-executive director. Standard Life Aberdeen said the appointment followed a "rigorous and comprehensive international search".
