Mirabaud appoints European small-cap manager to replace Nicholson

Mirabaud Asset Management has appointed Hywel Franklin as a senior portfolio manager to replace Ken Nicholson on the small- and mid-cap equities team.

Franklin joins from UBS Asset Management where he worked as senior portfolio manager on global equities. Prior to this, he worked as head of global small caps at UBS for four years until 2016.  Nicholson left the firm earlier this year after joining in 2015 from Standard Life Investments and launching the €89m Mirabaud Equities Pan Europe Small and Mid-Cap, and €48m Europe Ex-UK Small and Mid-Cap funds, which aims to identify Europe's 'hidden champion' companies.  The funds have been run by co-manager Trevor Fitzgerald..  Both funds are both fourth-quartile over one year and six mo...
