The investment companies research team at Winterflood has revealed its investment trust model portfolio for 2019, which includes 12 new names and ten disposals from last year's list, and which aims to take advantage of "proven managers" as well as value opportunities in the sector.
Now counting 35 names (down from 41 last year), the model portfolio has an average discount of 4.3% and a weighted average dividend yield of 3.1%. In UK equities, the team has removed Alastair Mundy's £783m Temple Bar Investment Trust and replaced it with the £206m Troy Income & Growth trust. They said the switch reflects their "desire to add a more defensive fund to balance other UK selections".
