The UK Government has been defeated in the crucial vote on its Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration on the UK's future relationship with the EU by a historic margin of 432 to 202.
Immediately following the vote, leader of the opposition Jeremy Corbyn tabled a vote of no confidence in the government, which May confirmed would be debated tomorrow (15 January). The Prime Minister said that if Parliament confirms confidence in the government, May will further work to secure the backing of the House. May said Parliament's dismissal of her deal "tells us nothing about what it does support". She added: "Running down the clock... is not our strategy...
