FTSE Russell has launched a FTSE 100 ESG index, offering investors the opportunity to incorporate ESG objectives into their passive investments, in response to client interest.
The FTSE UK 100 ESG Select index, which has been selected by HSBC as the underlying benchmark for a series of new ESG-related structured equity products, utilises a rules-based ESG Ratings and data model to select companies for inclusion. FTSE Russell launches gender diversity indices FTSE Russell's ESG ratings and data model uses over 300 indicators across 14 themes, based on publicly available data, with eligible stocks given an ESG rating ranging from 0 to 5, with 5 being the highest rating.
