Investec Asset Management has launched the Global Environment fund to support the decarbonisation of investors' portfolios.
The fund will invest in firms set to benefit from the world's power generation mix transitioning and decarbonising, which Investec has identified as a $2.5trn growth opportunity. Run by Deirdre Cooper and Graeme Baker, who will be supported by Investec's wider investment team, the fund's core investment process will focus on analysing the full carbon value chain and identifying businesses whose products are contributing actively to the reduction of carbon emissions.
