Jupiter Asset Management has appointed smaller companies analyst Matt Cable to replace James Zimmerman as manager of its £400m UK Smaller Companies fund.
Cable will join the group's UK equities team later this year and will take over management of the fund following a transition period. He joins from M&G Investment Management where he has been a smaller companies analyst since 2011 having previously held a number of strategic and commercial roles. Cable replaces Zimmerman, who is leaving the firm for personal reasons. During the transition period manager Richard Curling will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the portfolio.
