The UK's current gender pay gap reporting system is "flawed", although "great in practice", according to the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), which today released ten recommendations on how the system can be improved.
The RSS, a 10,000 member charity aiming to show how data can be used for public good, "warmly welcomed" the fact that, in 2017, the UK mandated all employers with more than 250 members of staff to publish data showing their gender pay gaps each year. However, the society's research found there is "real scope to refine the system in the future".
