Columbia Threadneedle is handing Dara White the reins of its £268m Global Emerging Markets Equity fund as previous manager Ilan Furman, who has managed the fund since January 2018, steps aside.
White, who is global head of emerging market equities at the group, will become lead manager of the UK-based OEIC from 1 July in an early example of Columbia Threadneedle pulling talent deliberately from its global pool to bolster performance, following the merger of sister companies in 2015. Columbia Threadneedle promotes former analysts to portfolio management roles White has been lead portfolio manager of emerging market equities in the US since 2008 and boasts 20 years' investment experience in emerging market equities.
