Ex-BNY Mellon distribution head McCarthy joins SLA

Standard Life Aberdeen has hired former BNY Mellon IM UK head of UK & Ireland intermediary distribution Fergus McCarthy for the newly created role of UK distribution director for regional accounts.

Reporting to managing director of UK distribution Noel Butwell, McCarthy will be will be responsible for managing and leading the investment and platform sales teams. McCarthy, who has over 20 years' sales experience within financial services, left BNY Mellon IM after five years with the firm in April, having helped restructure its sales approach in the UK while promoting Insight Investment and its other US boutiques.
