My daughter has just got a full-time job for her gap year before university – hurrah, I will only be working until I am 75 to pay the fees. So, she goes to pay in her first monthly pay cheque into her Halifax account and at the same time set up a standing order to put money into a separate savings account towards uni. As an aside, my wife and I had already tried on three previous occasions tried to take the standing order forms on her behalf, but they refused to accept them without her being there (the usual nonsense about money laundering).
