Just when you think the world is getting back to normal a year after Lehman's and then Terry Wogan announces he is packing up his radio programme after 27 years.
My world was rocked! Does Ben Bernanke listen to Wogan for inspiration; is Mervyn King secretly tuning because old Tel Boy is an economics genius? More likely, Gordon Brown has a sneaky listen to get in tune with the voice of the grey pound. Actually, I’ve never listened to Wogan on the radio and thankfully only have another four months to survive without doing so. And if that’s not bad enough, Waking the Dead (BBC1, 9pm Sunday and Monday) managed to feature a plot involving a hedge fund manager who had lost £6m he was supposed to be investing on behalf of a Turkish terrorist group. ...
