Multi-strategies for a singular cause

There have been two events within the multi-manager sector of the market occurring in the last two weeks - both quite different in nature - that are equally important and point a way forward for advisers.

Firstly is the departure of Chris Ralph, one of the founding partners of Maia Capital, the boutique backed by Ignis; the second is the arrival of Invest & Give, the multi-manager fund backed by 12 asset companies, which aims to create a new source of income for The Prince’s Trust charity. Ralph, his two fellow partners and Ignis came into the sector when equity markets were in full flow and they came with a good proposition, but ultimately did not differentiate themselves clearly enough from others in the market.
