Go on, be honest. What surprised you most? Wayne Rooney hurting his ankle, the election being on 6 May, Lionel Messi scoring four goals, or Guillame Rambourg being suspended like a schoolboy who had broken the rules?
Good news. Wayne’s ankle is going to be ok and I will be able to get through the next four weeks of election hell in the knowledge at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of the World Cup. With a bit of luck Rambourg will be back in action by then. Surely we should be nicknaming him Rambo, as is the way of the world these days. Of course, the situation is a little more serious than that, but as outsiders it looks like nothing more serious than the school equivalent of wearing the wrong colour shoes.
