When the election is over I am going to miss all the new friends I have made - you know the ones who seem to write every day asking for my vote.
They send what look like personalised letters, addressed “Dear Lawrence” or “Dear Neighbour” when in fact I have never met them and they do not actually live anywhere near me other than to be in the same constituency. It has been a strange election because even after weeks of campaigning we have no real idea what any of the three main parties think about anything. We know they all want to make “cuts” and need to raise revenue, but other than that we have no idea how and where it is all going to happen.
