And who could forget the Desiderata, the most punted piece of popular philosophy ever, claiming provenance from Old St Paul’s Church, Baltimore 1691… and actually written in the 1920s by Max Ehrmann, a lawyer from Terre Haute, Indiana. The 1970s are back, on platforms (that’s heels, not apps, for Generation Y). So apart from a hefty dose of deflation and increasingly militant unions, it was only a matter of time before the financial world caught up. Remember MIPs – maximum investment plans?
