A couple of weeks back I mentioned a new research-based service aimed at advisers, smaller institutions and sophisticated private investors called CheckRisk. It has been set up by a Bath-based hedgie called Nick Bullman, who has decided to cut through the waffle about potential future returns based on historical data (and thus VaR) to focus on a core group of simple processes that measure risk.
