If quantitative easing is a great big financial experiment, then arguably giving the Bank of England its independence 15 years ago was an even bigger one.
Has that independence been a success? It is something we have asked Dan Conaghan, the author of an excellent book The Bank, to tackle on page eight in this issue of Investment Week.
