There is no such thing as a free lunch. You are not paying it but, somewhere down the line, your clients are.

How do I know that? Simple. Every year there are dozens, hundreds, probably even thousands of events organised for the benefit of advisers. These could be breakfast, lunch or dinner. They might be seminars and conferences for a few hours or a few days, or just conference calls, internet-based events or workshops. And that is even before we get onto the lovely stuff like corporate hospitality, ranging from the odd game of golf to a day at the races or an occasional trip abroad.
