If the law is an ass, what about the IMA's fund categories?
They were an ARS as the Absolute Return sector, but now they have gone from ARS to TARS – as in Targeted Absolute Return sector, and to what benefit? I do not know. I know what the IMA has said via its Sectors Committee, but what difference does it make to the lives of advisers and the investing public? Absolutely none. The Absolute Return sector has been a mess since it started because not enough funds have similar investment objectives or styles to make it worth comparing offerings.
