Newton Investment Management CEO Helena Morrissey has lambasted the European Union for being a "model of the past" and said Britain can still thrive ouside the flawed organisation.
Writing in the Telegraph, Morrissey said several experiences have left her "disillusioned about the EU's approach to effecting change". These include the attempt in 2012 by the European Justice Commission to introduce quota legislation to increase the number of women on corporate boards. Morrissey campaigns through her 30% Club to achieve better-balanced boards through voluntary business-led action.
