Last week it was announced the team poached by City Financial from ratings giant Morningstar OBSR would be launching a competitor service at their new home.
Normally, this type of announcement is greeted with little enthusiasm. Advisers and wealth managers, who already conduct their own research into funds, are likely to respond to the deluge of alerts from ratings services by hitting the delete button on their emails.
