If I was allocating client money, I would find myself with a real investing dilemma.
In the past couple of weeks, a few ‘interesting’ investments have landed on my desk. A product paying a guaranteed 9% over ten years for a minimum investment of 10k has all the hallmarks as an alternative to annuities. Another investment – a bond – is offering a coupon of 6.25% over ten years with a minimum investment of £100k, at a time when 10-year gilts are offering less than half that figure.
