Investment Week is due to publish a book, Intelligent Investors, to celebrate its first 20 years shortly.
It features a series of interviews with fund managers we have come across over the years. The interviews range from the likes of Neil Woodford and Richard Buxton, to the current 'man of the moment', Angus Tulloch. One of the recurring themes within the interviews is the less than typical route many of these managers took into fund management. Look at the CV of a fund manager under the age of 35 or 40 today and there is a fair chance they will have the CFA exams under their belt, with a ‘relevant' degree.
