New partnership focuses on adviser education

Exchange-traded products have been attracting increasing levels of interest in the UK, but for many in the intermediary community a large part of this market still remains a mystery.

Last week, BMO Global Asset Management, ETF Securities, Source (in association with Legal & General Investment Management) and WisdomTree Europe announced a partnership to launch the ETF Forum, with the aim of improving knowledge of this area among financial advisers. This latest move is a key step in the education of the investment community, but it remains to be seen whether it will be enough to radically change the attitudes of some financial advisers towards the vehicles. A slow burn in take-up of investment trusts among the advisory community perhaps offers a cautionary tale here...
