China remains most important issue

While many developed world investors have been focused on Trump-related matters, the rest of the world has switched its attention back to the really important investment story of this and the next decade - China.

There is growing evidence China is bouncing back, which is just the kind of good news we all need to take our minds off the long list of crazy news coming out of Washington and depressing populist surges in the eurozone. One measure of this rebound in China comes from commodity markets. The price of many industrial metals has shot up, helped by significant supply outages driven by labour strikes and contractual disputes.  Not unsurprisingly, current metal prices in local currencies are now back near the highs of 2008 and 2011, given the recent strength in the US dollar.
