In a recent discussion with Karen Barrett, the CEO of unbiased.co.uk, she rightly questioned the point of LISAs.
She was not questioning the idea of a savings vehicle that could help people onto the property ladder, or helps towards long-term retirement planning. Instead, she was asking why consumers need another acronym, as the vast majority of people do not even know what ISA stands for. That is not to say people do not agree with the concepts behind financial planning, but many are confused by them and have things like 'paying the bills' or 'making ends meet' further up their agenda.
