Premier Asset Management's chief investment officer and manager of the Premier Diversifed fund Neil Birrell shares his views on which sectors are in and out of favour this month.

The £47m Premier Diversified fund has returned 26% over one year to 19 May, according to FE, versus returns by the IA Mixed Investment 40%-85% Shares sector of 18.4%. In favour: Equities Equity markets are not far off all-time highs but we continue to find good investment opportunities. The fund currently has a weighting of 62.9% in equities. Although we do not believe the valuation of the overall market is compelling, we are finding specific sectors and companies that we do believe are attractive.
