Does it feel like a decade since the global financial crisis (GFC) began? Has it actually ended yet? What are the lessons we have learnt in that time?
We have seen all sorts of headlines over the past few weeks to mark ten years since that moment which has shaped most of our working, and maybe personal, lives ever since. So what did we learn? I am tempted to say absolutely nothing. It is almost an irony of the lack of a lesson learned that we have created the acronym GFC to describe the whole episode, as though being able to call it something concise and neat allows us to compartmentalise the period.
