The deadline has passed for UK organisations with more than 250 employees to report their gender pay gap data to the Government Equalities Office and, unsurprisingly, financial services has the widest mean gap of 25.9%.
This compares to an average mean gap across all UK companies of 14.5%, according to Staffmetrix. Many asset managers are at the higher end of the spectrum, with some even reporting pay gaps of more than 50%. They have already started acknowledging this situation needs to improve, but clearly there is still much more work to be done.
