As the Mundy household recently embarked on a mass tidy-up, a game in which the whole of the family was apparently expected to participate, I quickly went to hide in the cupboard in which we keep our sports equipment.
Before long I was knee-deep in tennis racquets, table tennis bats, running gear, golf balls (despite having no golfers in the family) and a plethora of trainers. It quickly became clear that the Mundys are at 'peak sports equipment'. 'Peak' is apparently affecting a number of areas at the moment: restaurants, craft-beers and artisan popcorn immediately come to mind. I also wonder if the concept of moats in the world of fund management may too have peaked.
