Avoid taking algorithms at face value

It is a natural human instinct to look for patterns - one that is particularly evident in the asset management industry, writes Maarten Slendebroek, CEO of Jupiter Asset Management.

Doing so can help us sift unedited data and can aid the formation of successful investment ideas.  While we should celebrate that facility, we must also be aware of its limitations.
