What will 2018 be remembered for? For many in the asset management community it will be the year MiFID II, PRIIPs, KIDs and GDPR were introduced, adding to the already heavy burden of regulation.
One acronym, in particular, stood out for the investment trust sector. The Association of Investment Companies has been extremely vocal this year about the introduction of KIDs and its requirement for trusts to provide future projections on performance based on the past five years (see page 16) - something groups have said will mislead investors.
