Overall, the outlook for primary market fund raising is looking attractive, though it has been a subdued start to the year with the uncertain economic and political outlook.
The IPO market in particular has started quietly, but is showing signs of life as we anticipate a pick up as the year progresses. We are already aware of pent-up demand from listed companies wanting to raise money for acquisition and expansion but who are just awaiting greater clarity over Brexit. As and when this issue is finally resolved - or when, realistically, the worst case scenario is averted - our belief is that a surge of primary market fund raisings is on the cards.
