Indian elections: What can investors expect if Modi is re-elected?

The outcome of the upcoming Indian elections remains hard to predict, writes Gaurav Sinha, asset allocation strategist - India, at WisdomTree Investments.

At the time of writing, the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most popular leader and there remains no single face to replace him. However, the real question is whether he can be defeated by a seemingly unified collage of opposition parties. At this stage, based on on-the-ground experience, Modi's re-election appears to be a likely outcome but of course things can change between now and the elections, which are scheduled to be held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May.
