River & Mercantile (R&M) has named James Barham chief executive officer, taking over the responsibilities from Mike Faulkner as part of the group's "established succession plan".
Barham was promoted to the newly-created role of deputy CEO of R&M in September last year, as the group said it was preparing for "the next stage of growth". He will take over the role of group CEO from 1 July, as Faulkner steps back to focus on the management and development of the group's range of macro strategies. Faulkner will remain on the board as an executive director and will take on a new role as head of macro strategies and innovation.
