The MSCI Kuwait index is set to be reclassified to Emerging Markets (EM) status, with MSCI to make a final decision by 31 December 2019.
MSCI has also launched consultations on the possible reclassifications of the MSCI Iceland index and MSCI Peru index, following its 2019 Market Classification Review. The inclusion of the MSCI Kuwait index will involve nine stocks being added into the MSCI Emerging Markets index with a pro forma index weight of approximately 0.5%.
