Jamie Farquhar, business development director at Square Mile Consulting and Research, completed a sponsored 21-mile swim up and down Lake Windermere on 26 July, raising more than £10,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) as part of CASCAID's 2018/2019 appeal.
The swim, which saw Farquhar swim north-to-south lengths of the 17km lake, took him 14 hours and 34 minutes of non-stop swimming to complete. Farquhar said: "I am extremely grateful to all those who supported my swim by donating to CASCAID's GOSH appeal. To be honest, the swim was brutal and towards the end I don't think I have ever been so physically, mentally and emotionally shattered but the generosity of those donations helped me with every single stroke down Lake Windermere and back.
