Barclays names Allianz's El-Erian as incoming NED

Assumes new role on 1 Jan 2020

Allianz's chief economic adviser, Mohamed El-Erian, has been appointed a non-executive director (NED) at Barclays.

El-Erian was also chief executive and co-chief investment officer at bond giant and Allianz subsidiary, Pimco from 2007-2014. He will take up the position on 1 January 2020. The year of the iNED: Cultural change in the City At the same time, Dawn Fitzpatrick was also named as a NED of the bank, effective as of yesterday (25 September). Fitzpatrick is currently chief investment officer at Soros Fund Management (SFM), responsible for roughly $25bn and the group's day-to-day operations.
